Blessed Alexandrina, Apostle of Fátima

Alexandrina da Costa (1908 - 1955) was born in the hamlet of Balazar in the north of Portugal. A contemporary of the children of Fátima, at the age of 14 she was gravely injured fleeing from an attacker. Bedridden, she adopted and lived the message of Fátima, offering herself for souls. Over the next almost 40 years she had many mystical experiences, including experiencing the Passion on Fridays, had revelations similar to Fátima, and during the last years of her life lived on the Eucharist alone. She has been often called the Apostle of Fátima.
